Sockret pal questionaire

The basics:How long have you been knitting? about 25 years, oh dear that makes me sound old (I just turned 30!)

Do you consider yourself a beginning sock knitter, an intermediate, or have you been doing this so long you could probably knit a pair in your sleep? I think I could knit socks in my sleep!

The measurements:While your pal may ask for some additional info to ensure a great fit, please provide your shoe size, or any other fitting related info you think is pertinent. I am a US 81/2 Medium width. I live in Texas, I don't wear thick boot socks!

(fiber related) Favorites:What colors do you love?Do you prefer solids or variegated? I prefer wool socks, I am not a fan of superwash yarn with nylon. I love all colors, solid, varigated, pastel or bright, or anything inbetween. I especially love hand-dyed yarn.

What fibers do you most love to knit with? Wool, alpaca, cotton, soft acrylic. I don't like novelty yarn.

Who do you consider your favorite yarn vendors? Knitpicks, Elann, Angelyarns.com, LYS

What projects (other than socks, of course*S*) do you most enjoy knitting? I enjoy knitting baby and kid clothes (especially teeny, tiny new baby gifts). I love to knit lace shawls, and am just becoming interested in felted items, such as bags. I like to knit clothing for myself, but that always seems to be on the bottom of the to-do list.

(fiber related) Dislikes:What fibers can you not stand to knit with? To wear? What colors would you never wear? I don't like scratch cheap yarn. I don't like novelty yarn. I would never wear super bright or neon colors.

The Tools:Plastic or Metal? Bamboo or wood?Circs or Straights?DPNs or Magic Loop? Are there any knitting accessories you don't have in your collection but would like? Hmmmm....depends on the yarn.....I will have to answer this one YES! (except fo magic loop! I haven't done that yet, but I may in the future).

Knitting tools I would like....I love stitch markers, I would REALY LOVE a spinning wheel. A Swift, a yarn Meter, and the Lucinda Guy, Off to Bed book.

The Extras:Do you have a wish list? If so, please share the link! No, but I love everything to do with knitting, especially kids pattern books.

Do you like sweet, sour or salty? (or all of the above? *S*)

Do you have any allergies your pal should know about? (Certain foods, smoke, pet hair, etc) no

Favorite scents? Pies

Scents you can't stand? floral, CINNAMON

Do you collect anything (other than yarn and knitting toys of course)? no, not other than children (I have 4), and the enormous amount of stuff they come with.

When is your birthday? (month and day is fine!) August 6th

Do you spin? I would love to!

Dye your own yarn? Yes!

Your favorite author/band/vacation spot, anything you think will help your pal know you better...

:eek! don't know. I really like James Blunt at the moment, but I like most music (other than dance). Don't get much chance to read other than picture books.

I am from the UK, and really love (and miss) European yarns.

I sew costumes for a living.

I have a dog (a border collie).

Run around the back,
Out through the window,
And off pops Jack!
